What is included in your OTR fee?

What IS included

When you book a case on OTR, you pay a legal fee and a small OTR service fee ($10–$50). Together, these cover:

  • Your attorney's full legal representation Preparation, research, court appearances, negotiations with prosecutors and judges, and all paperwork and filings. Your attorney handles your case from start to finish.
  • Court appearances on your behalf In the vast majority of cases, your attorney appears in court so you do not have to. This includes multiple appearances if needed — continuances, follow-up hearings, and sentencing hearings are all covered.
  • All communication and case updates Your attorney and their staff communicate with you through the case chat in the OTR app. Updates, questions, and document sharing are all part of the service.
  • OTR's SmartMatch system Your case is matched to the best-suited attorney using 10+ years of real case outcome data.
  • OTR support team access Our team monitors your case and can intervene if issues arise — whether it is an unresponsive attorney, a declined case, or anything else.
  • Money-back guarantee eligibility If your eligible traffic ticket case is not resolved favorably, you get your legal fee back.
  • 1-business-day cancellation Changed your mind? Cancel within 1 business day for a full refund, no questions asked.

✅ Your legal fee is the full fee.

You will never be asked to pay additional legal fees directly to your attorney after booking. Everything your attorney does for your case is covered by the fee you pay at checkout.

What is NOT included

Your OTR fee does not cover costs imposed by the court or the government. These are separate from your legal representation and apply regardless of how you booked your case — whether through OTR, through a private attorney, or on your own.

  • Court fines Any fine the court orders as part of your case resolution. Your attorney may negotiate to reduce the fine, but the fine itself is paid to the court, not to OTR.
  • State and court fees Processing fees, court costs, and administrative fees imposed by the state or county.
  • License reinstatement fees If your license was suspended and requires reinstatement, the state charges a separate fee for that.
  • Traffic school or driver improvement course fees If the court orders you to complete a program, the cost of the program is paid to the program provider.

Your attorney will let you know if any of these costs apply after your case is resolved.

⚠️ Always pay legal fees through the OTR platform.

Only fees paid through OTR are protected by the money-back guarantee and cancellation policy.

Any payments made outside the platform are not tracked or protected by OTR.
