Was timely and professional for the case. Could use a bit more communication.

I hired Borhani Law Group through Off The Record for a red-light camera ticket in Alameda County. The fine was reduced and traffic school was granted, but this was the worst communication I've experienced from any professional service I've ever paid for. The attorney changed my plea to no contest and accepted a conviction on my behalf without ever discussing it with me. I was never consulted on any decision in my own case. He never assessed my case either. When I asked directly, "What are my chances?", the only reply was an arraignment date. In ten months, he never once gave me an update on his own. Every message I got was a reply to one of mine, often a single line or a single word. In April I told him I'd be out of the country on the arraignment date and asked whether that was a problem. He didn't reply for six weeks. When he finally did, after I followed up, he wrote "again, arraignment is June 22" and never answered my question. Twice he told me to check back with him after the June arraignment for my trial date. I did, in July, and got no reply. My trial happened on September 16, and nobody told me the date or the result. I found out from the minute order the court mailed to my house. When I sent that minute order and asked two simple questions, whether this was final and whether I'd get a point on my DMV record, the response was to mark my case "resolved." He never answered either question. A plea is the client's decision to make. Accepting a conviction without discussing it with your client, and then not answering their questions afterward, is not acceptable, however routine the case. If you want to be informed and involved in your own case, choose a different attorney on this platform. I would not hire this firm again, and I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
