This was my first time hiring representation, and as such I made a few mistakes. My attorney handled everything, however, and even though there were not many options, I came away with only a fine and no points. As a truck driver in Detroit, that’s essentially priceless! Thanks so much to Patrick and the firm.

Dear Ammar, Thank you for your feedback. I understand you were disappointed that the total cost was higher than the amount of the original ticket. For context, the original violations carried five (5) points. Through the representation, I negotiated the matter down to violations resulting in zero (0) points. That provided the benefit of a substantially better driving-record outcome and reduced the potential negative impact associated with the original violations, including how the violations may be viewed for insurance purposes. Attorneys do not control the fines and costs imposed by the court. Traffic resolutions typically still require payment of court-imposed amounts, and sometimes obtaining a more favorable reduction means accepting a higher fine in exchange for a better violation and fewer or zero (0) points. Attorney fees are separate from those court-imposed amounts. I also respectfully disagree with the statement that there was “zero communication.” Our communications, case updates, and responses are documented directly within the Off The Record platform. I understand that you ultimately placed greater importance on the total dollar amount than the reduction in the violations. I respect that perspective, but I stand by the five (5)-point-to-zero (0)-point result, the benefit of the reduced violations, and the communication provided throughout the representation. I wish you the best moving forward. — Patrick Bahry, Esq.
